Golf courses have always fought the same losing battle: repainting boundary lines, out-of-bounds markers, and penalty areas over and over, only to watch them fade, chip, and blur again within a season.

The problem was not a lack of effort. The problem was relying on a temporary product to solve a permanent operational need.

The Origin

Built by someone who saw the problem firsthand.

Founder Dave Ragan III saw the recurring cost, labor hours, and inconsistent appearance of temporary course markings while working as a golf administrator.

From one repaint to the next, the result was always the same: more staff time, more expense, and another short-term solution that would eventually fade.

The Problem

Temporary markings create permanent maintenance.

Traditional paint and temporary markers require repeated attention. Every repaint consumes staff time, adds recurring expense, and can produce a different visual result from one season to the next.

The Solution

A permanent system designed for the course itself.

Dave built the fix: Smart Mark, a permanent, branded boundary-marking system that replaces temporary paint with a lasting infrastructure solution.

The Application

Clear definition where it matters most.

Smart Mark defines curbing, cart-path boundaries, driving-range poles, penalty areas, and out-of-bounds areas while integrating club branding directly into the course.

The Result

A standard that does not fade with the season.

Clubs gain a cleaner, more consistent presentation while reducing recurring maintenance and creating a visual system that supports the identity of the property.

The Smart Mark Standard

Permanent. Professional. Distinctive.

A refined course presentation built to remain consistent season after season.
